Aligned Capital Partners Inc. (ACPI)
Our Investment Dealer
Aligned Capital Partners Inc (ACPI) is our dealer. ACPI provides support for investment advice, and management and monitors the Watson team’s ’ practices and processes. In addition, ACPI works in partnership with the Carrying Broker.
CI Investment Services (CIIS)
Our Carrying Broker
The CI Investment Services is our carrying broker that secures all your investments and assets. CIIS is a separate entity from Watson Investments. Their responsibility is to execute all trades, withdrawals and transfers between accounts and monitor these requests. All transactions will appear on your monthly statements from our investment dealer, ACPI with CIIS as the custodian. CIIS is a member of the Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (CIRO) and the Canadian Investor Protection Fund (CIPF) and like other Canadian banks, must comply with the regulations set in place by the governing bodies to protect your assets.

Our Regulator
Effective January 1, 2023, the Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada (IIROC) and the Mutual Fund Dealers Association of Canada (MFDA) combined to form Canada’s new self-regulatory Organization, now known as the Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (CIRO). CIRO governs all investment and mutual fund dealers. Their rules and regulations were established to protect investors and ensure their member firms managing your investments are complying with the highest level of standards. CIRO regulates the Watson team (your investment advisor), Aligned Capital Partners Inc. (our investment dealer) and CI Investment Services (our carrying broker).

Our Insurance
The Canadian Investor Protection Fund (CIPF) ensure that cash balances, securities, and other property the firm is holding for its clients are returned to them, within certain limits, if the member firm becomes insolvent.
